THE LECTURE​
Explore the fascinating world of the Ottoman court in Istanbul, visiting iconic palaces like Topkapi and Dolmabahce. Delve into the hidden life of the royal court through the eyes of both European visitors and the Ottomans. Discover the sultans' treasures, including jewels, ceramics, and ceremonial attire. Enter the secluded harem, where the Sultan's concubines lived under the watch of eunuchs and the powerful Queen Mother.

THE LECTURER​
Sue Rollin holds a degree in Near Eastern archaeology, South Asian studies, and conference interpreting. She has lectured at London and Cambridge Universities, worked for the European Commission, and now freelances as a lecturer and tour guide. She has led tours across Spain, Morocco, and Central Asia, co-authored guides on Jordan and Istanbul, and regularly lectures for the Arts Society.
